Lookalikes?

Lookalikes? On a wall near the main entrance to the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas, is a portrait with this inscription: “James Butler Bonham–no picture of him exists. This portrait is of his nephew, Major James Bonham, deceased, who greatly resembled his uncle. It is placed here by the family that people may know the appearance of the man who died for freedom.”

Think about it. We are walking portraits of Christ who walked before us. Although we can not see His face, we are His likenesses in spirit and in truth nonetheless.

God’s Word tells us: “… the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body" (Philippians 3: 20-21).

Being a Christian is like bearing a resemblance of an image. We don’t know what Jesus looked like, but when we wear his “uniform” and deport ourselves out of respect and love for what He has done for us, we become His image here on earth. Our earthly lives are that uniform and each of us must be willing to be “spotted-out” for the sake of the One who died for all men.

. “I pray today in Jesus name that as we live our lives with the hope that someday we will see Christ, we remember: we do see Him everyday in the hearts and actions of Christians around us. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
