Lifted up?

Lifted up? Scriptures tells us “Pride goes before the fall.” We all need to be reminded of that. We can’t count how many times that Bible reckoning had been cast onto the waters before us. Nonetheless, when it comes time to practice the preaching, it always seemed to be more comfortable taking the fall and chancing the deep waters ahead.

Think about it. We choose who is my neighbor based on how I might fare in the process than becoming a neighbor based upon the circumstances I might find myself in. Being lifted up so that we might not be a part of that which we don’t like or feel comfortable being a part of is never the answer to surviving the fall.

God’s Word tells us: “The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people…or even like this tax collector.” Luke 18: 9-14).

It is always the better and wiser path to become a part of that which we don’t like in order that we might not be cast down by Him who called the Pharisee’s pride a “blasphemy.” Standing too tall means you have a longer way to fall. Be lifted up and find the love of your life.

“I pray today in Jesus name that when we are given to praising ourselves we be reminded that our praise ought always be reserved for those around us, our neighbors, even those we don’t know but would like to. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
