Chance? I received a lottery ticket in a gift exchange at a Christmas party several years ago. It did strike me funny. I thought to myself how odd it would have seemed getting something like that years ago. We live in a time when games of chance seem pretty mundane. Casinos are common and lotteries? Well, they’re about as common as the corner gas station.
Think about it. These days we take chance sort of for granted. Too bad, because it may affect the way we even see God.
God’s Word tells us: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1-3).
God doesn’t gamble. He’s not sitting there with pencil and paper taking stock of what we want and then translating it into a plan. No, with God there’s no working it out; and no room for chance. He wills what happens to you and I and it, well, happens. So, when you get up tomorrow don’t look for a divine lottery as your life is concerned. To God your life is no game of chance; it’s just a matter of making what He figured out already, happen.
“I pray today in Jesus name that when we are troubled by the events of life, we remember that God does nothing unplanned or by chance. Everything He does is part of an eternal, flawless plan. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
