Trees planted by the waters? We are often overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the suffering that dwells around us. How can we bear the load without being crushed by it? With so many to be helped, how are we able to keep up? Yet, the number is not important since none of us are called to be successful, but called to be faithful.
Think about it. Often we set some pretty high goals and don’t achieve everything we set out to do. But success isn’t always measured by mere outcomes.
God’s Word tells us: “…be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green.” (Proverbs 12:3).
The Bible tells us when God plants us “by the water”, we bear fruit. We are called to be faithful to that purpose and to trust that if our roots go deep the water will be there. God will supply the fruit. Success lies not in achieving what you aim at, but aiming at what you ought to achieve.
“Heavenly Father, help us to remain in You. Help us to remain dependent, prayerful and full of trust that we will bear much fruit for You. Heavenly Father we thank You for every single individual who has responded to Your call to go out into your harvest field. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
