So many holes?

Unfilled holes? “You see George, you really had a wonderful life. Strange, isn't it? . . . Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?” Those memorable words from the movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life” describe just how important each one of us is to others around us. How our life touches so many others.

Think about it. God grants each of us importance that so often we overlook, even disregard. In doing so we can easily miss how we have influenced many, filling the holes that would be left unfilled had we not been there for them.

God’s Word tells us: “Abraham will surely become a great and powerful nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed through him” (Genesis 18:18-19).

We will become truly “great” and “powerful” as individuals when we look for our purpose in the small things that we do for others. Each of our lives are wonderful in that respect. If you do nothing else today strive to touch someone’s life with your love. Make it your purpose to fill in the holes in someone else’s life with your love. There are so many holes to fill.

“Heavenly Father, we live in a world where sometimes it seems we are insignificant; that had we not existed at all, no-one would have missed us. Forgive us for not understanding how important we are to You and others. In Jesus name, Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
