His way? Sometimes we come to God confident and, we think, well-informed and equipped to handle all of life’s adventures. But overconfidence, belief in ourselves and the resources around us, may lead to adventures with endings unanticipated and not wanted.
Think about it. We often ask God for too little. It seems we know what we need–something quick and easy to point the way. But what we really need is something better than our own resources. We need Someone who knows the way we should go.
God’s Word: “God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, …. ‘If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.’” (Exodus 13:17-18).
We often think we know better, better even than God does? He doesn’t always choose the shortest route or the one we are most comfortable with, but since He can see the best route beginning to end, it’s best to take the divine copilot’s advice every time. Do it His way?
“Heavenly Father, when I give You my trust, You in turn give me blessings beyond what I could ever hope or imagine. Forgive me for not trusting You. Giving control to You lifts an unbearable weight You never intended for me to carry. Thank You for that gift. In Jesus name. Amen!”
