Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! "Goodbye! Thanks for everything!" The young couple waved as their friends left, hearts full of gratitude. It had been a tough year—Jim lost his job, and Sally was pregnant with their fourth child. Bills piled up, and the holidays seemed overwhelming. Thanksgiving would be simple—just meatloaf, no turkey.
Then, unexpectedly, everything changed. After church, they came home to find their driveway filled with cars and the smell of turkey in the air. Neighbors had gathered, turning their home into a warm, festive celebration. For one day, they felt surrounded by love, generosity, and fellowship.
As the last guest left, the house fell quiet. Jim, his arm around Sally, said, "I wish we could keep this feeling." Sally agreed, wishing she could bottle it up. Jim smiled, “We don’t need a box. We have each other, and God will provide. You just have to believe it will be there tomorrow.”
We pray: “Heavenly Father, thanks for Your provision and the unexpected blessings that come when we need them most. Help us cherish moments of gratitude and trust that You will continue to provide, even in uncertainty. May we find peace in Your faithful care. In Jesus name. Amen.”
God’s Word: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).”
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34)
