Good tradeoff? Do you have enemies? Unfortunately, it’s the rare man or woman that doesn’t make an enemy sometime. The enemy may not be someone who wants to hurt you or ruin your reputation, but odds are you will run into somebody that simply dislikes you.
Think about it. There are two ways to deal with enemies. You can live with them or, you can outlive them; but, is there a better way?
God’s Word: …“… I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you” (Luke 6:27-28).
Treating our enemies with love isn’t an easy thing to do. Yet, that’s exactly what God asks us to do. When we purposely love those who don’t show us love, we open our enemies to the something irresistible, the love of God through us. God uses our enemies to glorify Himself. Our enemies give us something good starting with something bad. Not a bad tradeoff after all.
“Heavenly Father, you presented love and forgiveness to your enemies, help me love and forgive our enemies. Help me to be slow to anger, and patient. Help me not return evil with evil or insult with insult, but to do good to those who are tough to be around. In Jesus name. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
