First impressions? First impressions are important; however, they can be misleading, especially when it comes to making judgements based on trust.
Think about it. First impressions are powerful and sometimes difficult to overcome, especially if you’re the cautious type. When it comes to faith, however, first impressions based on caution can actually be hazardous, let alone foolish.
God’s Word tells us: “And he said,Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus.” (Matthew 14:29).”
If that desert wanderer were to focus on thirst, the first, cautious impression of need, the results would be disastrous not only for him but for others. Stepping out in faith means trusting that even though you can’t see the results of what that trust, you need to place your foot of faith out into the unknown. Faith is not an intelligent understanding, it is a commitment to an understanding we can’t see but know we have to believe
“Heavenly Father, Gracious Father, as we begin a new day, help us to engage your will with a reckless faith. Teach us to trust in you, and help us grow in righteousness. Heavenly Lord, give us the courage to step out in faith this day. Fill our hearts with your spirit, and let us speak your words with pride. In Jesus name. Amen!”
.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
