“Wonnerful wonnerful? The word "wonderful" isn't used much today, but it beautifully describes our redemption in Jesus Christ. Remember Lawrence Welk? He would praise his musicians with his own iconic, German expression “wonnerful." We too should recognize the wonder in God's forgiveness and deliverance just as Welk was always so amazed. As Mr. Welk would say, it’s “wonnerful” God has given us eternal life when we did not deserve any life at all.
Think about it. God is good; His grace is amazing. Perhaps there is no better way of putting it than He is certainly “wonnerful.”
God’s Word: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah:9:6).”
Someday you and I will stand in front of our Maker, the Lord God Almighty and, with Jesus at our side, we will hear these words: “Wonderful! Enter into my Kingdom and rest!” I love you as my own dear child; like Christ Himself. Or, perhaps it might be: “Wonnerful, Wonnerful, you did that well!” Maybe, if Mr. Welk has anything to say about it.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son, our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Guide us in Your wisdom, strengthen us with Your might, and fill our hearts with peace. May we always marvel at Your love and grace. In Jesus name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
