With a smile? Years ago my son Dan and son-in-law Andy helped me install a new ridge vent on our A-Frame home. The steep pitch made it arduous, requiring them to crawl along the ridge. Dan, afraid of heights, tentatively inched along, trying to look confident despite his apprehension. I watched, smiling.
Think about it. As you and I go through life, we often find ourselves trying hard, but only going along tentatively. How does God view that?
God’s Word tells us: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).”
I think God must smile down on us similarly. We're often tentative, like Dan, and despite our efforts, we sometimes make a mess. We stumble, fall, break hearts, but God never gives up on us. He forgives and fills us with unconditional love. May we learn to love and live joyfully like Him.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, I believe You smile down on us. We're often tentative, and despite our efforts, we sometimes make a mess. We stumble and fall, but You never give up on us. You forgive us and fill us with unconditional love. Help us learn to love and live joyfully You. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
