Who’s way? Remember these popular lyrics? “Regrets, I’ve had a few–But then again, too few to mention–I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption–I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway–And more, much more than this, I did it my way!”
Think about it. We can grab onto ourselves or grab onto God. Who’s holding the other end of the rope? Is it the safe and secure anchor of a faith in Jesus Christ; or, is it grit alone without any reference to God’s glory.
God’s Word tells us: “You will destroy and overthrow” (Jeremiah 1:10).
Better lyrics to that Sinatra song should be, “Regrets, we’ve had few–but then again, we’ve been forgiven–we did what He asked us to do and saw it through without opinion–He planned each charted course, each careful step along life’s highway–And more, much more than this, we did it His way!
“I pray today in Jesus name that we will never rely on our own grit to make our way through life’s obstacles and challenges without first putting our trust in the One who can save us.” Amen!
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
