Transforming grace?

Transforming grace? Every Christmas, I set up tracks around the tree and run an old American Flyer train for my grandsons. I recently read about James Lionel Cowen, who invented the first electric train. His key innovation was the power transformer, which safely converted dangerous household current into a gentle flow for the track. This crucial development made the train safe for young children, highlighting its importance over the train itself.

Think about it. Similarly, God often employs the transforming power of his love to tame the deadly power of grief in our lives.

God’s Word: "Praise … the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, … Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles … (2 Corinthians 1:3).”

Just as Lionel’s transformer safely converts dangerous household current into a gentle flow for a train, God transforms our grief and sorrow into a source of powerful, non-hurtful change. Whether you’re dealing with the death of a loved one, the pain of a broken relationship, or unmanageable sin, trust in God’s grace. His grace can turn your pain into joy, making the journey through grief safer and more hopeful, no matter how enduring the sorrow.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, just as Lionel’s transformer turns dangerous current into a safe flow, transform our grief and sorrow into sources of strength and hope. Help us find joy in Your grace, making our journey through pain safer and more hopeful. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
