No room for blame? When things go wrong our thinking is likely to turn to blame rather than accepting responsibility. It’s human nature. Why are we so quick to transfer fault in just about anything that happens to go bad in our lives?
Think about it. After a time finding enough blame to cover everything negative in our lives can become an exercise in blame-shifting and responsibility transfer. How sad.
God’s Word tells us: “For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.” (Genesis 37:36b).
Praise God that in love He seeks us out even when we have become self-seeking, not God-seeking in our dealings with others. When it comes to serving others before ourselves, what matters is the service we give them, not why the service is needed. There is no room for blame in a life filled with love.
“Heavenly Father, I have used feeble excuses and often refused to accept responsibility for my own bad decisions. Help me to think before I rush to blame others. Help me to pray for Your guidance before making decisions that selfishly accuse others. In Jesus name we pray. Amen!”
