Think about it. We’ve all heard the expression, “Need a friend, be a friend.” Sometimes I think that as a culture we’ve begun to lose sight of the fact that friendship is an art.
God’s Word tells us: “Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.” (Job 6:14-21).
Friendship is a delicate plant, requiring harmony, love, and commitment to flourish. In our hurried society, we crave instant gratification, not the patience and effort friendship demands. People seek companionship only when convenient, forsaking the dedication needed for lasting bonds. Perhaps it's time to prioritize meaningful connections over fleeting distractions. It seems people have friends today when it is convenient, when it fits their fast-paced lives. How sad?
We pray. “Heavenly Father, in a world of haste, friendships faltering under the weight of convenience, teach us patience and dedication. Help us prioritize meaningful connections over fleeting distractions. Grant us the wisdom to nurture relationships with love, sowing seeds of enduring companionship. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.”
