Tear down? What does it mean to have a brother? There is something special about a brother that sets them apart from all other people in the world. Easter is a good time to reflect on the bond of brotherhood and the debt that bond brings.
Think about it. Jesus is telling us that, with His resurrection, things have changed. We are His brother and He ours. We have the same Father and, therefore, share the same oneness with God and with those who are also sharing that bond of discipleship with us.
God’s Word tells us: "“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13: 34).
We are to treat one another with the same love and respect that we would show to family. When we treat others badly it would be as if we did it to our own flesh and blood. We are to take up the sword for one another--to defend and not tear down.
“I pray today in Jesus name that each of us treat one another as if we were showing love to those in our own family. In Christ all believers are our brothers and sisters in the faith. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
