Some more powerful?

Someone more powerful? I love taking on challenges, even when help is available. Recently, I faced a large piece of lawn furniture—a swing with a canopy. It seemed light, only about 60 pounds, so I decided to move it alone. Holly offered help, but I declined. However, I quickly realized the problem wasn’t weight, but bulk—it was too wide and tall to lift by myself.

Think about it.  In life’s challenges, we can either face them alone, hoping for the best, or rely on God's limitless strength. The choice is simple.

God’s Word: “‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).”

As Christians, we don’t have to be hard and thick-skinned to survive the pressures of this life--as long as we appropriate God’s power within to equal the pressure without. The evil world around us is full of some pretty bad things that can quickly cause our faith to collapse. But, if we pump ourselves up with the power of God’s Word, that pressure can’t do us in. Doing it ourselves will mean certain failure. There’s someone far more powerful who can help us carry the load.

We pray: “Heavenly Father, thank You for being our constant source of strength and guidance. When we face challenges and feel alone, remind us that You are our "cavalry," already beside us. Help us trust in Your presence, knowing we need not fear when You are at the helm. In Jesus' name. Amen.”

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.    Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34)
