Shadows? Are you concerned with meeting your maker? Not if you treat death as you do life. It happens and you and I just have to deal with it. Whatever harm is waiting; it can’t be avoided anyway. But, how does a Christian face death? Is there any harm, waiting for us that we can’t avoid?
Think about it. It’s comforting to know that when it comes to death, shadows are the only thing we need to think about. There is no harm living in the shadows. The Bible tells us that, for a Christian, physical death can’t harm us.
God’s Word tells us: Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. (1 Peter 3: 13).
A man anchored in Christ whose hope is in heaven and not dialed in on this earth, can’t be harmed by anything as evil as death. Good always trumps evil, no matter what. In the end, the good news is this: we do have a choice after all. We can choose to live in death’s shadow or let it run over us. A good man chooses living in it. A good man always chooses Christ.
“I pray today in Jesus name that you and I choose not be afraid of living in the shadow of death, because the shadows can’t harm us when we acknowledge that there is no hard hiding there–only Christ.” Amen!
