Seizing the moment?

Seizing the moment? Procrastination knocks at our door daily, tempting each one of us to put off tasks until tomorrow. A quiet voice says, "Just do one thing, and everything will be okay," but tomorrow’s promise keeps drawing us in. The hope of a miracle never seems to come, and the list grows, leaving us disappointed and stuck in the cycle.

Think about it. Procrastination keeps us stuck in the present, dreading tomorrow. If we wait to do today’s work tomorrow, are we often disappointed by how little we accomplish, trapped in a cycle of unfulfilled expectations?

God’s Word: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well (Matthew 6:33).”

We live in a world full of urgent tasks that overshadow what’s truly important, like daily prayer and Bible study. We often put off these soul-nourishing habits for tomorrow, but procrastination steals our future. It’s time to leave it behind—focusing on what matters now will make our yesterdays memorable, today more fulfilling, and tomorrow more fruitful. When it comes to spiritual growth, there’s no better time than the present. Seize the moment.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, help me prioritize what truly matters—spending time with You in prayer and study. Guide me to leave procrastination behind, making today count for my soul. May my days be fruitful, and my heart focused on Your will. In Jesus' name. Amen.”

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34)
