Seize the day?

Seize the day? Carpe diem! Engraved on the fellowship hall I passed daily, I never thought much about it. But when my daughter asked, “What does Carp Dime mean, Dad?” I explained, “It means seize the day, make the most of every moment.” Her curiosity left me pondering if I truly lived it.

Think about it. “Seize the day!” Like our Savior, every day is for embracing work and joy, sharing both with others. There’s no time for slacking in work or pleasure.

God’s Word: "Cast your bread upon the waters, for you will find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, or even to eight, for you know not what disaster may happen on earth (Ecclesiastes 11:1-2).”

The Bible says, "Cast your bread upon the waters, for after many days you will find it again." We see the results of hard work, but often forget to share our joy. Share your smile, a joke, or a kind word today. Let your joy spread to others. Seize the little moments God gives you and make someone's day better. By sharing our happiness, we create ripples that can come back to us in unexpected ways. So, seize the day and spread joy!

We pray. “Heavenly Father, help us cast our joy upon the waters of life, sharing smiles, kind words, and laughter with others. May we seize each moment You give us, spreading Your love and light. Let our small acts of joy ripple back to us in unexpected blessings. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
