Sailing? Christians are like beautiful sailing vessels. We build our faith on God’s Word, ribbing our lives with the assuring message of salvation in Jesus our Savior. We spend years putting our faith together, board by board, nail by nail, beam by beam. Jesus Christ, our Redeemer and King is the sail and rigging for our ship of faith. We focus our faith on Him developing an attitude of Christian service to others founded on His service to us.
Think about it. Our ship of faith is nothing more than a useless barge unless it’s moved by love.
God’s Word tells us: “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13).
Love is the power that pushes our faith and hope forward. When faith and hope are in line, we’re free to love completely because God loves us. God’s love pushes us forward into the lives of others. His love is compelling focusing us on others not ourselves. Without love we will remain in life’s doldrums forever, going nowhere. It’s always better to sail than sit.
“I pray today in Jesus name that we always look to God for His love, freeing us from the dangerous voyages of life that take us places where we fear to go, but know we must. Sail on in faith and He will bless.” Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
