Safe surroundings?

Safe surroundings? For years, I've cherished a pair of old slippers—true companions. Their worn soles barely hint at tread, and their uppers sag from countless shuffles. Stained with coffee and salt residue, they hold memories of lazy Saturdays and wintry walks. Yet, when a piece of wood fell on my foot, these "old friends" offered little protection. New friends needed?

Think about it. When it comes to friends, perhaps old friends may not necessarily always be the best ones?

God’s Word tells us: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. (Proverbs 13:20).”

Once we've established a deep connection with our Heavenly Father, it's essential to seek friends who uplift and support this bond. Good friends nurture our relationship with God, offering strength in adversity. They're like sturdy shields, not mere fluff, safeguarding us when life strikes. True friends, though not always old, are invaluable allies in maintaining our spiritual journey year-round.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, as we deepen our bond with You, grant us wisdom in selecting friends who strengthen our faith. May they be unwavering, rooted in Your love, shielding us from harm and leading us in Your ways. In moments of trial, may their support reflect Your grace  In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
