Real peace?

Real peace? Since no one can actually see God, as He is a spirit and His full glory would overwhelm the sinner, God chooses to reveal His glory only in passing. His “goodness” passes before us and this goodness is like a merciful hand to shield us and protect us.

Think about it. God puts Himself, His goodness manifested in mercy, between us and our fears and sorrows here on earth; the things that threaten to rob us of our peace.

God’s Word tells us: “And the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the Lord, in your presence” (Exodus 33:19).

You and I need to consume as much of God’s Word as possible, 24-7, so that His goodness will always be on patrol in our spiritual lives. It’s a healthy recipe for spiritual living that affords us a strong defense against the powers and forces in this world that have but one purpose, to rob us of the “peace that passes all understanding.”

“Heavenly Father, Lord God, I pray for Your protection as I begin this day. You are my hiding place, and under Your wings I can always find refuge. Protect me from trouble wherever I go, and keep evil far from me. No matter where I am, I will look to You as my Protector. In Jesus name. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
