Reach for the sky? Here’s a story: A traveler came to a big river, discovering there was no bridge. It was winter and the river was sheeted over with ice. With caution, he crept on his hands and knees and managed to get halfway. Then he heard singing from behind. Out of the dusk came another traveler, driving a four-horse load of coal over the ice, singing as he went!
Think about it. A faith that doesn’t reach high enough is like a talent that takes itself for granted. God doesn’t grade on a curve, He gives out grades based on the effort He knows in each one of our hearts.
God’s Word tells us: “"For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed …. the just shall iive by faith” (Romans 1:17).
When God asks us to do great things with a great faith, often our weak efforts make great things look worthless. Want an “A” in faith? Put your whole heart into everything God gives you to do. Make your deeds complete with a background and shading. Don’t skimp on the details.
“Heavenly Father, Help me to keep my faith in you alone that I would have peace and not falter in my thinking. The world wants to destroy the peace I have through faith in You. Protect my mind and heart from the things of this world. Pour out your perfect peace. In Jesus name Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
