Puff of smoke?

A puff of smoke? Disputes are to be settled, without regard to first what is fair to us. All of us feel it’s our right to be treated fairly. When someone harms or defames us without cause, we’re naturally inclined to seek first our rights and worry about the consequences later.

Think about it. Jesus says that we must first seek to pay our debt to our adversary before considering what may or may not be fair to us. It is more important to God that we show kindness than kindness be shown to us.

God’s Word tells us: “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court” (Matthew 5:25).

When disputes arise in your life be quick to end them without first thinking of how fair or unfair it might be to you. Show love, seek to understand and place your pardon out front before you seek justice. You may find your adversary speechless and the conflict but a puff of smoke.

“Heavenly Father, do not let our diversity divide us, but help us to welcome gifts we can give and receive from one another. Save us from prejudice, arrogance and fear, and teach us how to live together as members of one family, sharing one home, and the children of one God.” In Jesus name. Amen. –written for this collection In Jesus name. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
