Prayer pill?

Prayer pill? Just as human beings are prone to laughter, they are also subject to frowns. There comes a time in everyone’s life when there’s just isn’t much left to run on. It’s called depression. Although the term old, it’s come into its own in the last several decades.

Think about it. Treating depression has become an industry fueled by a society that has become obsessed with fixing things through externals. Today we seem fixated on a quest to quick fix our lives with pills and counseling. Are we so much sicklier today that we require much more than in the past?

God’s Word tells us: “Then God opened up the hollow place in Lehi, and water came out of it. When Samson drank, his strength returned and he revived” (Judges 15: 11-20).

Give God His due when things go right and you may find that He is always there to hold you up when they go wrong. Feeling sorry for yourself may be treated with a pill. Feeling right about yourself can only happen with a prayer. Even men of iron like Samson are subject to rust; but rust need not lead to decay when God himself is our spiritual repairman.

“I pray today in Jesus name that when we always looks first to our Lord the Creator and Repairer of all mankind to bring peace to our tumult and strength to our weaknesses. Prayer is always better than a pill.” Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
