Playing the game?

Playing the game? The old adage, “It’s not whether you win or lose but how you play the game” is very appropriate when applied to the use of spiritual gifts. As Christians we need to remember that our spiritual gifts are nothing but noise unless they are connected to their proper use in the body of Christ. Whatever the spiritual gift, it’s important that we use it wisely, spread the gift around and avoid using it for selfish purposes.

Think about it. Our goal should always be to use the spiritual gifts that God has given us to further His work among His people–winning souls for His Kingdom!

God’s Word tells us: “Pursue love and strive for the spiritual gifts, and especially that you may prophesy.” (1 Corinthians 13).

We need to be willing to learn how to use them and when to use them. We need to practice using them until they greet the ear of God’s church with a pleasing melody that fills the hearts of all believers with hope and joy. Remember, when it comes to being gifted it’s how you play the game and not what you profit from the gift.

“I pray today in Jesus name that we always be reminded that God has given each of us a spiritual gift. It is ours to hold and cherish; it is foremost ours to use and share with others who need our gift of love.” Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
