Passing all understanding? God wants you and I to work for peace in our lives. To strive for peace with our neighbor is a good and blessed end. We also are to look to our government for peaceful provision as well. Nevertheless, as we strive to find and maintain this peace, it is important that each of us recognize that, in the end, there is no peace except that which God Himself provides to us freely as a gift.
Think about it. God gives the peace out of love for us and for the sake of His Son, Jesus Christ. Is this a peace we understand or merely ?
God’s Word tells us: “He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. (Psalms 147:12-20).”
He chooses to dwell within our hearts, granting us His peace, bestowing upon us the warmth of His all-providing comfort the likes of which we have not known since first we were conceived. When all is said and done our greatest efforts are nothing as we regard the peace of our God which passes all understanding. He grants, we receive. O give thanks unto the Lord!
We pray: “Heavenly Father, who chooses to dwell within our hearts, grant us His peace and bestow upon us the warmth of His all-providing comfort. In our striving, may we find solace in His transcendent understanding, knowing that our efforts pale before His boundless grace. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
