Oneness? For year’s we’ve had a piece of artwork on our refrigerator of a little boy. The inscription reads: “I know I’m somebody ‘cause God don’t make no junk!” Even though our children are gone, the artwork remains; perhaps to inspire another generation of grandchildren.
Think about it. When God made us, He wasn’t thinking about junk, but a precious treasure that would do wonderful things, if we took the time to bask in our oneness.
God’s Word tells us: “When you take a census of the Israelites… each one must pay … a ransom for his life… when you number them.” (Exodus 30:12).
Don’t aspire to be anyone but you. While God always wants you and I to excel, to become something more than we are, He’s not interested in us becoming someone other than ourselves. In that sense we are accountable for our oneness. Each day of our lives is a day of counting. He seeks to know our “oneness” everyday.
“Heavenly Father, You have made me unique, a one among a world of many. May I live my life as the special treasure You made me before the beginning of time. Forgive me when I fail to see Your mission for me each day of my life. I am special and never a piece of junk. In Jesus name. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
