Not there? When the women came to Jesus’ tomb early Easter morn, their expectation was that they would see the man who they had loved. They were expecting to see Jesus; He who had smiled upon them, always forgiving, always encouraging.
Think about it. They expected to see Jesus, their special teacher and friend. Instead, they found a strange man sitting on the rolled stone. There was no body, no Jesus, no teacher and friend. He was not there?
God’s Word tells us: "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.” (Matthew 28:1-7).
Did you know you are not there either? Just as Jesus was no longer in the grave, we are no longer of this world but merely in it. Heaven, where He reigns, is our true home as well. He is perfectly transformed and so are we. Homesick? Give it time, you’ll get there.
“I pray today in Jesus name for every Christian who isn’t here but wants to be there, in heaven. Lord, help us abide our homesickness resting on the promise that He just isn’t in the grave anymore. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
