Not just a number?

Not just a number? Growing up with five siblings, I recall how my father treated each of us as individuals, not just a collective. Raising our four children, my wife and I saw uniqueness in each of our kids as well. Despite challenges, we, like my Dad, resisted grouping our children. It’s hard to believe, but God is no different. Each one of us is an individual in His sight.

Think about it. How I see God today, my Heavenly Father, has much to do, I believe, with how I saw my earthly father growing up.

God’s Word tells us: “… but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” (Psalms 18:16-19).

Amidst fatherly duties, none surpass the importance of understanding our Heavenly Father's personal care, as outlined in the Bible. To God, we're never mere numbers, but individuals. We need to impart this understanding to our children as well, ensuring the home remains a sanctuary from life's numerous impersonal touches. None of us is just a number.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, remind us of Your personal care. Teach us to impart this understanding to our children, ensuring our homes are sanctuaries from life's impersonal touches. In Jesus name. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
