Never alone? “I would rather stand alone in the light of truth than in the crowd filled with error.” (Adrian Rogers) In God's gift of freedom lies the responsibility to discern truth from falsehood. Choosing truth may sometimes lead us to stand alone amidst the crowd's errors. Yet, it's a stand worth taking, for truth illuminates our path and aligns us with God's will.
Think about it. How do we prioritize truth amidst societal pressure?
God’s Word tells us: “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10).”
Be resolved to stand boldly in the light of truth, regardless of popular opinion. Standing boldly in truth may entail advocating for the marginalized, defending the voiceless, or confronting secular falsehoods, regardless of personal cost. It is likely to mean that personal decisions in our lives will be based on what God desires, not men. Taking this path may be lonely but we must never forget God is always there beside us. We are never alone when we embrace the truth.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, May we find strength in Your truth, O God. Help us stand firm, even when the world seeks to sway us with secular truths that don’t seem too radical but open the door to rejecting You. Guide our steps, that we may walk confidently in the light of Your wisdom. In Jesus Christ name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
