Neutral ground?

Years ago, our local ballot presented a moral choice between two qualified candidates. One candidate clearly represented a good, moral option, while the other did not. I approached a local business, asking if they would support the morally superior candidate with a placard. The owner responded, “We can’t choose sides. It might affect our business. We need to stay neutral.” This response was disappointing, as it avoided making a clear moral stand.

Think about it. I’ve never liked neutrality, which avoids taking sides on issues. Today, it’s often viewed as the “moral” choice, even when it means neglecting moral judgment.

God’s Word: "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish you were either one or the other. So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth." (Psalm 23:1).”

Choosing between right and wrong is subjective and involves judgment. Neutrality isn’t a stance but a scheme. Moral decisions demand a choice: a path to righteousness or destruction. The Bible indicates that neutrality leads nowhere. In God’s business, there is no neutral ground—following Him requires choosing a clear path.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, Guide us to make clear choices between right and wrong, avoiding the false safety of neutrality. Help us choose the path of goodness and follow Your will, knowing there is no neutral ground in for you Help us to. strengthen our resolve to walk in Your ways. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
