You and I are just one person among billions, making it easy to doubt that God has a personal plan for each of us. While we know God could act, the sheer numbers can be daunting. When personal prayers go unanswered, it’s tempting to think specifics doom our requests. Perhaps we simply need to find contentment in being one among many—nameless yet deeply loved by God.
Think about it. How can we trust that God’s mysterious plans will fulfill our needs and answer our prayers, despite unexpected challenges?
God’s Word: "How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! If I were to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand (Psalm 139:17-18).”
God has made His plans for us, involving everyday life, the unexpected affairs of the day, our faith, courage, and, unfortunately someday, death. While it may have seemed unfulfilling at the time, everyday life and death answers our prayers perfectly. When we acknowledge that God works in mysterious ways, we must trust that He will design a plan to meet our needs and His plans for us. Commit your cares to the Lord; His mysteries never fail.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, help us remember that, though we are just one among billions, Your love for us is personal and profound. Strengthen our faith when prayers seem unanswered, and remind us to find contentment in Your perfect plan for our lives. In Jesus name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
