Moment of shame?

Moment of shame? Shame is one of the hardest things to bear. We’ve all been there. That “bad” word that slips from our lips when something goes wrong, or we find ourselves in a tight spot we hadn’t seen coming. Sometimes it might be an action we had the fullest confidence in, that turns out to be nothing but a foolish move.

Think about it. How should we look at embarrassment, even shame, when it comes to living fuller lives? While no one invites shame or enjoys it, it does have its moments.

God’s Word tells us: “Immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows twice you will disown me three times.” And he broke down and wept.” (Mark 14:72).

While you and I ought always to strive to avoid those embarrassing moments in life, at least when they happen, we need to learn from them as the Apostle Peter did. Who knows, perhaps your next moment of shame may help you avoid disaster down the road. God is great; He never misses a moment to teach, not even an an embarrassing one.

Dear Lord, “I praise and thank You that the Lord Jesus was willing to face the enormous consequences of the Cross and become sin for my sake. The wrath of God that I justly deserved was poured out on Him in my stead. Praise God I am cleansed in Him. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).
