Master potter?

The Master Potter. Years ago, I installed a footing under a foundation. Recently, while digging nearby, I uncovered it again. The smooth, strong footing contrasted sharply with the memory of the concrete’s acrid odor and the noisy, messy process of mixing. What had been a dirty, laborious task now appeared as a solid, pristine foundation. The initial mess had transformed into a perfect, enduring result.

Think about it. Such is a Christian’s life; a mixture of promise that, through the Workman’s hand, becomes a solid foundation for hope.

God’s Word: "But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him (Jeremiah 18:4).”

Just as a potter starts with a seemingly insignificant lump of clay and transforms it into a beautiful piece, so God works in our lives to shape us for His glory. Surrendering to His process can be challenging, but it’s essential. By humbling ourselves before Him, we allow the Master Potter to mold us from raw potential into something valuable. What begins as mere promise, through His shaping, becomes a beautiful and worthwhile creation, despite the initial imperfections.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, we trust You as our Master Potter. Though shaping us can be challenging, help us stay humble and surrendered to Your will. Transform our lives from raw potential into vessels of Your glory. Thank You for creating beauty from our imperfections. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.   Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
