Love is? God is love and not the other way around. But the world has developed a selfish view of what love is. It teaches that love is what makes you feel good and it’s OK to sacrifice moral principles in the pursuit of love. Christians know that this isn’t love, but selfishness.
Think about it. Real love is found only in Christ. Christians are the only ones who truly under- stand the nature of love because love is defined in Christ. We know that God cares for us because he LOVES and that because God LOVES He has given us the freedom to choose to love Him back.
God’s Word tells us: “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us” (1 John 4:7-21).
God’s love is eternal. Therefore, Heaven is certain because only in Heaven will love last forever. “God is Love...God is Love!” May we praise our God because He has created such love and offered it to us through Jesus Christ! Anything else called love, just isn’t the real thing.
