Lessons? Growing up, my Mom’s daily question was, "How was school today?" That brief question transcended routine, shaping my diligence as a student and influencing my approach to work, marriage, and fatherhood—a subtle yet profound foundation learned in her kitchen.
Think about it. Sometimes the mundane is just the ticket God uses most often to work His will in us.
God’s Word tells us: “He called out to them, ‘Friends, haven’t you any fish?’ ‘No,’ they answered'” (John 20:10-15).
Before ascending, Jesus met disciples fishing on the Sea of Galilee, asking, "Friends, haven’t you any fish?" Beyond a query, it held a lesson. Like asking, "How's your day? Caught any fish?" reveals our Savior's daily concern. Despite mundane days, they matter to the Lord. This question underscores the importance of our pursuits, emphasizing the extraordinary connection between our actions and divine purpose in life's seemingly ordinary moments.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, in the simplicity of Jesus' question, "Haven’t you any fish?" lies a profound truth. Grant us the wisdom to find purpose in our seemingly mundane days, recognizing their significance in your eyes. Guide us as we navigate life's waters, catching the unique fish meant for us. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
