Is God shouting at me?

Is God shouting at me? After a busy day, I worked with mechanical speed, quickly moving from task to task. Before I knew it, half the day had passed, and then—suddenly—a blinding headache hit. My pace slowed, and work became methodical. When pain set in, everything stopped. I reached for Tylenol, and time, once fast, now became slow. Can any good come from the stillness pain leaves us in?

Think about it. Can any good come from the stillness and incapacity pain often leaves us in?

God’s Word: “Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all (Psalm 34:18).”

Sometimes, God needs to shout to get our attention. The routine of life can make us forget to honor Him. When whispers aren’t enough, pain often steps in, forcing us to pause and reflect on our hectic paths. Though painful, these moments are a reminder that God cares enough to interrupt our lives. It’s in these times of discomfort that we may experience His presence most profoundly.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, In the midst of life's busyness, I often forget to honor You. Thank You for loving me enough to use pain to get my attention. Help me embrace these moments, reflect on Your presence, and trust You are guiding me through every challenge. In Jesus name. Amen.”

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34)
