Incredible claims?

Incredible claims? Many readers, like me, often read ads in magazines promising Charles Atlas strength or conditioning equipment that guarantees muscle building in "90 days or your money back." These ads persist because people want them to be true, despite knowing better. We desire that "free lunch" without investing significant time and effort.

Think about it. Much of life is spent seeking certainty in an uncertain world, treating life like a Charles Atlas ad—testing it to confirm its seeming emptiness.

God’s Word tells us: “Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the LORD your God; his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm (Deuteronomy 11:2).”

But, is there anything that’s really worth being certain about? What about faith? God makes some pretty incredible claims when it comes to having and using a faith-life. He tells us that by faith we can move mountains. He claims that a strong faith, one built upon the belief that He will do all things in and through us, will not waver even in the face of imminent danger or incredible risk.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, help us find certainty in our faith. Strengthen our belief that through You, mountains can be moved. Grant us unwavering faith, trusting in Your incredible promises. Guide us to live boldly, knowing You work through us, even in the face of danger and risk. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
