In your meadow? When facing frustration, there is perseverance, and then there is perseverance. Preacher John Wesley’s diary shows this: On May 5 and 12, he was banned from churches in London. On May 19, chased off the street. On May 26, a mad bull interrupted his meadow sermon for no-one. Finally, on June 2, he preached to 10,000 people at the town's edge.
Think about it. I’d probably would have given up sooner but his determination redefines perseverance. If you just try sticking it out long enough, you’re bound to make an impact?
God’s Word: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).”
In the kingdom, the battle is to the determined, not the dramatic. The Bible says, “Patience is better than pride” (Ecclesiastes 7:8). Trust in the Lord to turn hopeless situations into hope. God often chooses the hopeless to reveal His glory. Struggling? Remember the little burro: stay attached to your troubles and trust the Lord. You will be tossed and thrown, but in the end, the troubles will get tired, and miracles will happen in your meadow.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, grant me the patience and determination to endure life's struggles. Help me trust in Your power to turn hopeless situations into hope. Remind me that You choose the humble for Your glory. May I stay steadfast in faith, knowing that through You, miracles will happen. In Jesus name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
