In the balance?

In the balance? We often grieve for friends we’ve lost. Often they’ve had so little time to enjoy the things that meant so much to them. Nevertheless we learn something from the loss; our possessions are meant to enhance life, not to become the main focus of living. When they do our life is our of balance in that regard.

Think about it. Lord help us to remember that we come into the world with nothing and we leave with nothing.

God’s Word tells us: “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it.” (Mark 8:35).”

There comes a time in each of our lives when the only way to see what an enormous value our life is, is when all that we possess hangs without meaning in the balance of life. Perhaps it is a good thing to discover “nothingness” from time to time in our lives. How else would we ever discover the true value of God’s greatest gift, our very lives.

“Lord Jesus, we pray that you help us to die to sin, to every tendency in us, to live according to our ways, according to this world. Help us to live according to your ways. In your Word, we pray, and we pray that you would help us to lose our lives today, for your sake, In Jesus name, Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
