In control?

In control? “f only I had driven faster, I would have made the light!” We often think this, making excuses when things don’t go our way. It’s human nature to believe that one small change could alter everything. Yet, in reality, we control very little—whether it’s the timing of traffic lights or life’s many challenges. Recognizing this can help us accept that some things are simply beyond our control, leading us to focus on what truly matters.

Think about it. But, what about God? If it’s true that he is sovereign all things are under His control, why doesn’t He always make things right?

God’s Word: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).”

When troubles strike, we often doubt God’s care, questioning if He’s truly in control or distant from our struggles. However, God’s love, demonstrated through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, reassures us that He allows hardship for a purpose. Just as a traffic light forces us to stop when we want to move forward, sometimes God pauses our plans. We must trust that, even when we don’t understand, only He knows the good that will come from it.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, when hardships make me doubt Your presence, remind me of Your love and purpose. Help me trust that You work all things for good, even when I can’t see it. Grant me patience to pause and faith to believe that You are in control.. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)www.thispassingday.com
