Blinding curse? When we decide to fight first and ask questions later, it often turns out that pride is a blinding curse, concealing the unseen perils connected with stepping out in defending ourselves before God has dealt with the foes we fear.
Think about it. Which voice are you listening to today? Is it the voice that tells you to “stand up for yourself because no one else will?” Perhaps it’s the voice that proclaims “you deserve to win, to be number one every now and then.”
God’s Word tells us: “God opposes the proud, but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6).
Out of the darkness, there is a voice signaling something opposing our pride: Submit and change course. That voice is the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, and we ignore it at our peril. Seek humility first when dealing with others. It makes you a lighthouse and Satan (and your enemies) nothing more than a ship that needs to change its course.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
