Harms way? That submitting step we take right after we determine we want to help, but not put yourself into harm’s way, is the step of extraordinary commitment the work so often requires and God expects.
Think about it. It’s often hard to go beyond the first step when others need our help. We’re inclined to give advice, even lend a quick hand. But, when it comes to submitting ourselves to that next level, sacrifice, we aren’t so often inclined?
God’s Word tells us: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you” (Psalm 32:8).
Jesus looked at our hopeless situation and risked all, even His own life, to pull us out of sin’s ditch. He went to that risky, next step level for us. Know someone who needs your help today? Don’t hesitate to get yourself dirty. It’s the sign of a great leader and a loving Christian to be willing to go to the next level despite the risk. Remember His strong arm.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
