Grand bouquet?

Grand bouquet? Recently, Holly and I attended a wedding where the Grand March and bouquet toss took place. I find this tradition polite yet competitive. Single ladies gather, eagerly watching the bride as anticipation builds. Hands reach up, ready to capture the bouquet, and the group remains vigilant, focused on the bride and the toss's trajectory, awaiting the moment.

Think about it. Waiting for the bouquet toss teaches patience and focus. Just as those ladies anticipate the toss, we should patiently watch for God’s perfect answers to our prayers, trusting His timing.

God’s Word: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6).”

When we pray, we should first expect an answer. Like those ladies waiting for the bouquet toss, we must prepare ourselves, focusing on where that answer will come—heaven. Prayer requires a mindset of watchfulness and patience, readying our hearts to receive God's timing. Waiting on God means being diligent and attentive, for like the bouquet, His answers may be easy to miss if we're not looking for them.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, as we gather in joyful anticipation, help us remain vigilant in our prayers. Teach us to trust in Your perfect timing and prepare our hearts to receive the blessings You have in store for us. May we always be ready to embrace Your gifts. In Jesus' name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
