God's watch?

God’s watch? Understanding the relevance of time is crucial in life. Time wasted is irretrievable, so I vigilantly monitor clocks and watches, carefully measuring how long tasks take and when to begin the next one. Whether it’s arriving at the office punctually or finishing a meal to make room for other activities, time holds universal significance for me. I attentively track its passing, recognizing its importance regardless of the task’s perceived significance.

Think about it. But, what about when we measure God’s use of time? Do we apply the same rules to God that we often apply to our- selves?

God’s Word: "But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day (2 Peter 3:8).”

We present our requests to the Lord, selecting from His promises in His word and "paying" with fervent prayer, suffering, or obedience. We then wait for answers, often growing frustrated if they don’t arrive within our expected timeframe. We ask, "What’s taking so long?" However, while we are fixated on our own schedules, God, who doesn’t wear a watch, manages time according to His perfect plan. Our impatience stands in contrast to His timeless wisdom and sovereign timing.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, help us trust in Your perfect timing. When we grow impatient, remind us that Your plans are beyond our understanding and Your timing is always right. Grant us patience and faith, knowing that You work all things for our good and Your glory. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
