God owns a Buick?

Does God drive a Buick? While driving on the freeway recently, I noticed a big Buick sedan trying to merge into my freeway lane. I sped up to stay ahead of him, but he matched my speed and slowly but deliberately merged in front of me. Annoyed, I moved to the center lane to confront him but suddenly realizing I was acting like I owned the road, a road warrior ready to punish the invader.

Think about it. How quickly the sword is drawn when we sense our “space” is invaded. As I slowed down and tried regain my cool, I marveled at the power of my emotions when anger and pride had intervened.

God’s Word: "Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil (Psalm 37:8).”

When our emotions take over, it's wise to keep our anger in check. We should restrain our anger and avoid conflict. Christ broke the barrier of sin between us and God, giving us peace. When anger threatens that peace, remember: we don’t own life’s road, God does. And you never know when He might be driving a Buick.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, help us to control our anger and keep peace in our hearts. Thank you for breaking the barrier of sin through Christ and giving us peace with You. Remind us that we don’t own life’s road—you do. Guide us with Your grace and wisdom. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
