Freely bonded?

Free to be bonded? Every day is an exercise in freedom. There’s space to roam, and air to breath. We feel secure in our own lives, walking our own trails, unseen by others and free to whistle, sing a song or just be silly if we want. Yet, is our freedom really based in our ability to wander and do whatever we please? Not really. There’s life’s paths to clear, and a host of other things that need to be done or the property of our living will fall into disrepair and our freedom may all but disappear.

Think about it. By serving life in this respect we find the freedom we need to enjoy it. While free we are always a servant of the life that gives us the freedom to enjoy it.

God’s Word tells us: “Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. (Romans 15:2).

So it is with our Christian freedom. God gives us the opportunity to do good works and the faith to want to do them; then gives the opportunities to practice it. We’re free to help, preach, teach, show mercy, and a host of other spiritual gifts; or we’re free to hoard them. Either way, bonded.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for the opportunity to live under the freedom of your love for us. Help us to understand your call to freedom as a call to bonds, bonds that tie us to You and You to us. In Jesus name, Amen!

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
