My friend, may I ask you a question? Should we even think twice about jumping the obstacles that stand in our way when it comes to giving love to those who need it? As Christ knew no boundaries, should we?

What does it mean to have a brother? Although friends endear us, there's something special about a brother or sister that sets them apart from all others. The sense of oneness is unique. You share a heritage, a common blood. When they cry or bleed, a part of you cries and bleeds with them. There is also a peculiar sense of loyalty and integrity that mark a sib- ling's bond. We strike many bonds in life, even those that bind us to a spouse, but the bond of brotherhood is unique. Linking arms with a brother or sister brings a type of strength and courage unsurpassed by any other bond in life.

When Jesus rose from the dead that Easter morn, he brought with Him a new concept of brotherhood that had never been expressed so keenly. It was a new brotherhood, a oneness that would forever change the world.

Here's a story: "A young lady, Sally, relates an experience she had in a Christian college class given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons. One particular day, Sally walked into the class and on the wall was a big target and on a nearby table darts. Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing. The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr. Smith asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts, Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall. Underneath it was a picture of Jesus. A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus. No words were necessary; the tear-filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ. "My Father and your Father; my God and your God!" There is just no way of getting around it. Jesus is telling us that, with His resurrection, things have changed. We are His brother and He is ours. We have the same Father and, therefore, share the same oneness not only with God but with those who are also sharing that bond of discipleship with us. That means we are to treat one another with the same love and respect that we would show to a brother or a sister. Yes, even our enemies. When we treat one another badly, it would be as if we did it to our own flesh and blood. This is unacceptable in a family; it is unacceptable in the family of Christ. "Love one another as I have loved you!" So commands our risen Savior. He is arisen; He is arisen indeed!

We pray. Heavenly Father, with Jesus rising from the tomb on Easter morning, things have really changed. I am His brother and He is mine. We have the same Father and the same oneness not only with You but with those who share our bond of faith in Christ. Lord, forgive me when I do not treat my brothers and sisters in Christ with the same love and respect that I would show to an earthly brother or a sister. When I treat other believers badly, it would be as if Idid it to my own flesh and blood. This is unacceptable Father in a family; and I know that it is unacceptable in the family of Christ. "Love one another as I have loved you!" This is what Your Word says. Dear Father. Thank You by Your Spirit that Jesus is arisen; He is arisen indeed! In His name I pray. Amen!

Therefore my friend, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry for itself; each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matt 6:34) This Passing Day. May this passing day honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be a blessing to you and everyone you meet. Find a stranger and say hello. Don't let another day pass without your day blessing someone else.
